Hi, I have a problem trying to adjust the partition on my hard drive. I have a Compaq and I am not sure how to do this. I have an 80GB hard drive and I want a 70 / 10 split.
Thank you.

Hi,
Yes, FDISK is the way to divide to hard drive space.
Just know in advance that by using fdisk, all data will be lost on the drive. You can find full instructions for fdisk here,

If you have data on the drive that you can't do without, you need to use a program like Partition Magic. You can by it online or at most any computer store. Partition Magic will allow you to split your drive without loss of data.

Doesn't Compaq store some of the BIOS information on a seperate partition on a drive or is this a new, clean drive? If its the drive that came with the computer you might want to find out if there is a hidden partition with some system information written to it.
