Hi Guys,

Just got a new 250GB drive. I know when this is formatted it would show 232GB. I want to partition, 2 x 100GB partitions exactly. Just my own OCD...

Could anyone tell me what size I should partition them for, so they would display sizes of exactly 100GB each.

Thanks...

Better to work on your OCD - go wild and try making them 99/101 and see if you can stand it. It will be a test of your willpower. Those kind of problems only get worse, so nip it in the bud.

Then, what will you do with the leftover 32GB? I would be more bothered by that than having exactly 100GB partitions. It will be a small orphaned area, a little small to be the OS/apps partition. Such a waste...

Thanks guys for both the support and moral guidance. I'll give the 107,374,182,400 a go. If it works I'll be grand, if not I'll just twitch away for the life of the drive....

I think it's actually 1,073,741,824 and you work it out by:

1024 * 1024 * 1024

This is the formula used in VBScripts to calculate diskspace where the constant is 1,073,741,824 to make Bytes into GB
