I am setting up a Windows 2003 server SP2 as a domain controller, DHCP server and File server for a small network with only 4 PC's and a couple of network printers. I have 2 320GB disks set up for RAID 1.
How much data is written to the Active directory log files?
The Microsoft technotes suggest dividing the disk into 2 equal partitions, one for the OS and one for the Active Directory logs etc. see link
However 160 GB seems ridiculous for log files on such a small network. How big should I make these partitions? Should I have a separate partition for the file data?
Any suggestions welcome as I am coming to this from a Unix background and have no idea how much data gets written to Windows server log files.
Thanks
Rob
