Hey Folks,

I have inherited a server with serious partition size issues. There are two partitions. C drive is only 4GB with only 80MB free space. D drive is 70GB with nearly 60GB of free space. Obviously I am having performace issues with the lack of space on the C drive.

Is there any way I can adjust the size of the partitions without affecting the data on either partition. This is an Exchange Server so the data is obviously important.

Any help would be appreciated.

Should I have also mentioned that this server has Raid 2 configuration with Disk mirroring.

You would have to use a 3rd Party utility such as Partition Magic (for Servers) to resize your partitions as teh DISKPART utility built into W2K3 will not work in this instance.

The only other option is to backup, rebuild with a larger C:, and restore.

I like using ghost to resize partitions, just seems safer to me. you can ghost the drives to dvd or another slaved in hard drive then restore the ghost to the server. When you restore you can resize the partions on the fly, its very easy and works everytime, never had an issue with this process.
