So i was installing a fresh copy of xp and seeing as im an expert and all i wasnt paying attention to what drive i deleted the partition on and unfortunately i accidently deleted my D:/ partition which has all 120gb's of my files on it. Thankfully i didnt format the drive so is there anyway to recover the lost partition? The data should still all be there just the drive is unallocated and not accessible.

Im currently running a program called active partition recovery but it doesnt seem to be working, any suggestions? Commercial recovery is obvously not an option.

You might want to try GetDataBack on the affected drive.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

would just echo vacunita - getdataback should recover this situation (obviously you'll need ANOTHER drive with 120GB free space)

i got a program called nucleus kernel and am now in the process of transfering my files

thanks for the help
