Partition Magic Lost my 30GB partition

I used Partition Magic 5 to Meger 2 30GB partitions to one - it bombed. Upon a hard reboot partition magic came up said something to the effect that it could recover the original partition from some type of "markers" it set, but then also told me that it would not work with Windows ME (of course it tells me a bit after the fact) So.. there's a 30GB partition out there somewhere full of stuff that I can't get back. Any one have any idea how to find these "markers and how I can use them to restore the original partition?

I lost my 3 gig partition too ..... and I feel for you, cause you were there for me to love and care for me when skies were grey........... (boyzIImen - song for mamma) ..... it was one of the mp3's i had on that partition.

Do you know how to get that partition back yet???

I would like to know any of you knowlege that you may have aquired in partition magic (which doesn't seem so magical).

What Powerquest "forgot" to say is using PM5 only in DOS version which you can
get doing those Rescue disks.On the 2nd diskette there is the real thing,which
works really nice.I had also a nightmare with PM4 and PM5 Windows version.
Last but not the least,PM5 DOS is also a great boot manager.No need of that Boot
Magic elephant.
