Imaging tool: Drive XML
Partitioning tool: Gparted

I've recently tried partition my hard drive and put a HD Image on it. Needless to say, it didn't work. It pretty much said the partition was not big enough to put on the image, although the image was 57GB and the partition size was 250GB. I'm assuming it was because I took them image when it was on the unpartitioned 500GB Hard Drive.

How would I go about taking an image of the unpartitioned drive, partitioning it, and then putting the image on the smaller partition?

(Also as a side note, I tried to resize the hard drive so that I did not need to do an image restore, but it errored out when it when to actually resize it.)

Thanks
