Partition Image probs

Hi,

I created a bootable cd with partition image but I'm not able to restore the image

the problem is that when i start partimage from the boot cd there are no partitions to save/restore ...

does anyone knows what I can do or whats the problem ?


If there are any other programs that I can use to create a image of a partition let me know!

The instructions with Partition Image regarding making a bootable CD relate only to creating a standalone (operating system independent) bootable CD that would run the utility itself. I haven't tried it personally, but the way it reads to me is that you would have the backed up images on other media - for example another (non-bootable) CD .

The only vaguely similar GPL package that I know of is parted -->

. This does support making CDs in the manner you describe - the only problem is that the example given is to clone windows installs. On the commercial side the best known package is probably drive image -->
