I have a sony vaio desktop computer.

I have two drives on my computer, or one drive with two partitions.

I have 15 gig on drive c and 45 gig on drive d. My c drive is almost full and i do not think it should be. How can i move some of my d drive to the c drive. I am not real computer literate. I really need the space. Most of drive d
is free. please tell me where i can go to get more space on drive c. A web site or software or where i can get help for this problem.

thanks,
Bowmar

It may be a good idea to move the My Documents folder (supposing you have Windows). 15Gb is generally quite enough for a Windows system and its programs, it is the data that is hogging the space.
Simply open the Windows Explorer and click and drag the My Documents folder from C to D. After confirmation, you should find your data on D and, hopefully, all of your applications will go there also.
It would be a good idea to check if your usual applications (Office) have recorded the change (check the Options in the menu).

Pascal.

You could also move your temporary internet files folder.
This will also keep c: less fragmented .

In windows-xp:
:My Documents:
Make a new folder on d: called "My Documents" .
Right click on the my documents icon on windows desktop
Choose properties - and select move
Direct it to your new d:\My documents .
:Temp internet files:
Make a new folder on d: called e.g d:\inet-temp
Close existing IE windows.
Right click on the IE icon on windows desktop
Choose properties -
On the general tab click settings in the
"temporary internet files" ares
select move
Direct it to your new d:\inet-files

There is also the "Partition Magic 8" software
and other partition managers .
Theese can resize partitions .
Your d: can be shrinked so there is free space in front of it ,and after c:
Then c: can be expanded to use the new free space.

Example of partition resizing:
Free 10GB from beginning of D:
Expand C: with this 10GB

| 15GB (C:) | 45GB (D:) |
<------------------> <------------------------------->

| 15GB (C:) | free | 35GB (D:) |
<------------------> ....... <------------------------>

| 25GB (C:) | 35GB (D:) |
<---------------------------> <----------------------->
