Ive just baught a new laptop which has no floppy drive. ive got xp installed onto but want to play some of my old games like champ man 3 and carmageden.

i have windows me which is for my old computer so its locked out from others ive tried it. Ive also got win 95 which needs the boot disk to boot up but ive got no floppy drive.

what do i do? i think i need ms-dos but dont know where to purchases it from if you can

Without a floppy drive, you won't be able to install MS-DOS 6.22 [the last version] as it was only available on floppy disks. The first disk is bootable to get the drive prepared and start the installation.

You've probably reached the 'end-of-life' point on the old games. Microsoft, on one of its pages, states "Future products will no longer support installation via the setup boot disks. Installation of future Microsoft Operating Systems will require the ability to boot from the CD or PXE boot from Network.". From this I gather that support for floppies may be coming to an end, after all it is the oldest slowest part of computers now.

Hi-

Buy a USB floppy drive. Use Google to search- there's lots of sources.
