Partial Table Linked to another DB

I need to link a table from one db to another. Easily done..
However I only need and want 3 fields to be linked over to the other db's.
This is for employee sensitive data that seems to be growing more all the time.

How do I go about doing this?

Create a query over the linked table. Hide the table...

select field... from lnkTablewhatever

This way they will only see the three fields!

This assumes you do NOT let them see the database window and that they do not know how to unhide the table

Split the Table in two parts, a public one and a secured one.

Thanks, going to have to go with PHV's because later I wont know what the people will know..

I can easily update info between the two as need be. I was just kinda hoping it would be simpler than that heh.
