Hi guys.

Is there a method to split a db to FE and BE, but the BE to have only some of the tables (for example 10 out of 15) and the rest (5) to exist as linked tables to FE?

and a 2nd question: Is there a way to re-merge a split database (to its previous state with the tables linked)?

TIA

Hmm! I do have a concept for both my questions (to delete the tables and use the External Data feature to import the tables into the FE) but I am looking forward for you opinions.

Personally, I always do this manually to ensure everything is fresh. There is a db splitter, but I do not bother with it.
1) create two brand new empty databases. Make one the front end the other the back end
2) Import into the front end all forms, queries, reports, modules, and whatever tables.
3) Import into the new backend the rest of the tables.
I always have a table in my front end to store user settings and other default information.

The Split Database functionality in Access moves all the tables to a backend.

To do just selected tables, have a look at TransferDatabase using both the acExport and acLink transfer type arguments.
