I have ready-to-use an image clipped into a word document and I am not sure under which software that clip was created as I am unable to see it's properties. I just see small handlers around this clip.

“Alphanumerical” part of the image is not editable as it is a whole thing.
Is there any relatively simple way to make the “text” editable (the most important thing is that I need to copy and paste it)?

I recently posted someting similar into Adobe Acrobat Forum but at that time I though that clip was created as a pdf......but it looks like it was not

Thanks you in advance,

Katrin

You're probably going to have to resort to some sort of OCR software to accomplish this.

If you have Adobe Acrobat Standard (maybe) or Pro (pretty definitely), there is an option within that program to automatically recognize text.

In that case, it'll depend upon how clear the text is as well, b/c if it's grainy or not a standard font, then the OCR app could end up misinterpreting it.

Another method is using TechSmith Snag-It in text-capture mode. However, I will say that their text-capture mode leaves a lot to be desired. It seems to me it only really works as a simple copy/paste from a source that's already in text format. So it's misleading. (Great program otherwise, though).

And there appears to be some OCR support directly within Word. Take a look at these search results.
