Hello,

I am using Cognos BI 8.3. I am getting the following error:

"QE-DEF-0260

Parsing error before or near position: 25 of: "'some text';"

DPR-ERR-2082 An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator. The complete error has been logged by CAF with SecureErrorID:2009-03-26-10:47:15.902-#451" "

Situation:

I have a prompt page with a value prompt that is a multiselect list box. When I run the report and only select one value the report runs fine. However, if I select more than one value I get the parsing error.

If I have not provided enough information please let me know. I hope someone can help:)

thx,

Q

This seems like the easy answer but are you using an '=' sign instead of 'in' on your filter for this item?

Nope. I am using an in. I wonder if the issue is because there is a hyphen in the item. It's a year month combo...i.e. 2009-12..

What I am trying to do is create a report that allows the user to select a "report type". Based on the selection the filter will be different. However, I also want to be able to schedule the report with set parameters and not have it prompt for all parameters. So I wanted to pass a parameter that basically says if X is empty then chose Y...Does that make sense?

thx,

Q.
