Parse GET method and reidrect to another port

I need to write a script that will parse the GET method and redirect the values to another port on the machine...

Example

http://www.hostname.com/cgi-bin/script.pl?Search=all

The script that I need to write will evaluate and make a post call to

http://localhost:1000/Search

and send it "all"

I understand the parse of the GET method and have that working... I am unsure on how to get the connection to the other port and the machine and send the information...

any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated

Check out the LWP module.... it enables http requests (GET or POST).
