parse/execute ratio - high

i am checking the Toad, there it displaying the message "high parse execute ratio" for parse/execute ratio statistic. the value is 63.9102
wht is the best value to get here, which parameter controls this.

for "parse execute ratio" (without the quotes.) You will find more than enough information about hard/soft parse and execute. Most commonly, is the lack of the use of bind variables in code.

In most cases this is the result of bad coding (not using bind variables).

a third party product is using oracle as content store and in this database i am findin this problem., since i dont hav access to test/modify the product, i got only option left with is to modify the database parameters. wht is the best way to resolve this.

Does the performance degrade significantly? Do you really need to "resolve this"? I mean that this ratio itself is not an issue. Of course, you may set CURSOR_SHARING=FORCE and get better values but probably with worse performance.

What are the wait events like? If lots of users are waiting then it may be one portion of the problem....if no waits, then it may not be much of an issue
