I hope someone may have some insight here to help me out.

I have 2 locations IP500 4.2 on a SCN and they want to be able to Park a call at one location and pick it up at the other. Is there anyway to accomplish this?

They can overhead page between the locations.
They only have a receptionist at the main site.

For now, the receptionist is having to overhead page the remote location, and have the person she pages call her at the main site and tell her which extension they are at so she can transfer the call to them. The Park function does not work as one between the 2 sites.

Not possible, it not a SCN function.

You could have a look here or search on tek-tips.

cant she just transfer the call to them?

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.

Well, they did have a receptionist at the second location and that would have worked fine, but she has taken on another roll and there is no receptionist there now, and the employees aren't at their desks a lot of the time.

She could have received the transferred calls from the main site, overhead page her remote facility with the call parked, and have the employee pick up the parked call.

That isn't an option now and I am trying to make life easier for all of them.

yeah parking and scn doesnt work. someone mentioned a workaround parking to a spare alog extn on the remote site then picking it upbut im not sure if it worked or not, ill try and find the thread.

can she not just transfer calls? if they are there then they answer, if not then they can pick up the voicemail when they are at their desk?

or they could use forwarding, then its up to them to manage the forwarding and the receptionist can just transfer to their extn, it will make her life easier.

or get some twinning, sorry mobility, licenses and have it ring their cell phone then they can always go back to their desk and pick it up if they want to talk to the person or talk on the cell phone.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Transferring to a group on the SCN is easiest. The group could have members but all disabled so it will ring and ring. You could label the Group as Park 1, 2, etc, so user is none the wiser.

Then create a button or short code 'Pickup Group 1'/Park1 for them!

The only thing you don't get is visual status, and many calls can be placed to same group.
