I have a customer(bcm 3.5) trying to set up park and page, to page only on external speakers in different zones. The system answers with correct prompts and asks callers to wait "one moment please", parks call, but does not play over speakers. When accessing through feature 62, then pressing zone all is ok.
Any thoughts on what's missing here?

The Park and Page Node Properties needs to have Page Type changed to Overhead Paging. That is one of the 3 options, the others being, Internal Zone, and Both.

yeah did all that....I did read the instructions, but I found out that the user has a zone paging system and don't think the bcm is capable of paging external(overhead) zones ...only internal ones.Once the choice is made for overhead paging I'm pretty sure that's as far as you can go.
Anyone have a fix for this?

You could probably get a paging system that connects to a CO port. It wouldn't be included in a page all. You just access the CO port connected to the paging system to use it.

Thanks tectel, but I don't think that would give the users the park and page option....which is the whole point. The park and page option connects to the page port, not a co port. The zone option within park and page refers to sets only.

I'm not sure if I understand, but do you have an amp plugged into the BCM paging port? The BCM does support overhead paging.

yes of course the bcm supports overhead paging.......my issue is with the "park and page" feature. When programming this feature once you have chosen "overhead paging" you cannot choose an overhead zone, which is really part of the Valcom and not the bcm.

It's not Nortels recommended method but you could take a 7100 set, open it up and tap the speaker wires to get audio output. Then put this phone in its own page zone. Not sure how your zone paging is currently set up so there may be other issues by doing this.
