I'm pretty new to director, and I have a tendency to "think" in Flash. Is there any way in director to put graphic objects (sprites or cast members) inside others or create a parent-child relationship. EX: if you rotate the parent object the child object would rotate as well.

another example: Let's say I wanted to make a game with a scrolling background, and there were a bunch of little characters walking around this world, and their location had to be updated when they moved and/or when the background moved. In flash I would stick all the movie clips in another movie clip and they could all run around in there. In director, would you have to explicitly offset each object each time you moved the background? ...I'm just trying to make sure I understand some of the fundamentals of what can and cant be done in Director.

any comments appreciated!
