Parameters passed form an application

Hi there,

I am working on an a web application that displays reports using Crystal. Currently, the application makes database changes, and the Crystal Reports use this modified data as values in the report query.

Looking through the Crystal Help, it seems a better solution would be to parameterise these reports. However, I am struggling with a couple of things:

1) Does the parameterised reports functionality allow these paremeters to be passed, rather than to be entered by hand? It tells you how to type in your parameter, but not much else.

2) If so, could I use asp functionaliity to pass the parameters from our application to the Crystal Server.

I hope this is clear enough. I'd be happy to clarify anything if it helps.

If you are using Crystal Enterprise to launch your reports on the web, you can pass the parameter values on the URL. See the following:
