Is it true that you must use BusinessViews in order to use Cascading Parameters within BOEXI reports?

Being brand new to BusinessViews, can you recreate or replicate any style of Crystal reports with them?

No, that's not correct.

Take a look at the Prompting.rpt in the samples under Feature Examples in the Samples folder. It uses a Access database, and does dynamic cascading parameters.

I would advise against Business Views unless you have some overriding reason to use them. They are a proprietary data source and won't be available to other tools without going through the BO API.

If you want reusability and ease of maintenance, look at Views or Stored Procedures, as they work with almost any tool.
