Can I put a formula as the default value in a parameter ?

Why ? Well I want the user prompt to enter a date to always be 'today + 42 days', no matter when 'today' is. This way the date will indicate the minimum 6 weeks forward that they require, with the option to change it.

Is it possible ?

I don't believe it is possible to do this exactly as you wish (although maybe a third-party tool would allow you to), but you could do something like create a prompt that says "Unless you select a different date from the one displayed, the report will show records based on the currentdate + 42 days."

Then create a record selection formula like:

(if {?date} = currentdate then
{table.date} = currentdate + 42) or
{table.date} = {?date}
