I have created parameters, however, in the drop down list box it is empty. I would like for all the database values to show in there, updating when values are inserted or deleted. Is there any way I can do this?

When I edit the parameter field, I see the "Set Default Values", however, doesn't this keep only values that are currently in the database?

Thanks for any help! s-)

You're right there. You can put anything in the default values list, assumming you are working with V7 or newer. You can also select a check box to allow additional input of something not in the default list. And finally, unless I am mistaken, the "browse" database and field options do not work consistently. For example, I could have a Customer paramter field and then set the parameter to browse the customer file, Cust ID field, but If I add a new Cust ID that does not mean the parameter field will pick it up. Do you have any ideas/solutions for this kind of issue? I would really like to add those fields in the drop down menu list. The user may not always know what to enter into the parameter field.

Thank you!

The only way for the drop down to be dynamic, is if you create the drop down in VB instead of Crystal. That requires programming an application to launch the report. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Are there any tutorials here on the forum to help me do this? Is this difficult?

Thank you so much for your input!

If you know the basics of programming in VB this wouldn't be difficult. If you haven't done any programming, this would be a major project. Launching the report is easy. There are several guides to Crystal Syntax in VB (including my own). However building a drop down is not covered in any of them that I know of. It isn't a difficult task, but that would require learning some Generic VB tricks that aren't really related to Crystal.
