Hello,

It has been awhile since I used Crystal last. Please help! I am using Crystal 9.0. I have a field containing a variety of alpha-numeric three character codes.

I have an end user who wants the ability to select either all codes starting with "F" or "W" (which is how the report currently functions) OR be able to select one or more codes from within that subset.

Should I be using a parameter for this and could someone give me some examples as to how to code this?

Thanks!

Dear KSAAB2002,

Do any of the codes only contain 1 character?

I will work this out for you .. can you give me examples of codes?

Also, would they mix in selecting records starting with one character and specific code(s)?

regards,

ro

Have the user enter an astrisk for partial codes (F* or W*) and in your select formula use the "Like" operator.

Table.code Like {@PromptCode}

Thank you MrBillSC! That was it - I guess I couldn't see the forest through the trees. All I had to do was add the W* and F* to the parameter pick list.

Thank you both..I may be back with another thread later :)
