Hi!
I’m using CR 8.5 with SQL Server.
One table in report.
I created the text parameter base on one of the field (string).
When I did “Set default values” and selected field I want use and than I added those values it shows only first 35 values from 121.
Is it any restriction to past just certain values in to parameter.

Thank you very much.
Al.

There' a Registry setting that controls the number of values it returns (MaxNBrowseValues). On my box, it's in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\DatabaseServer.

Thanks Dave,

I thing this settings is OK, because I tried the other field from the same table and it takes all the values. (more than 1500).

Thanks again'

The Browse Field will show you distinct values from a field. Is it possible that you only have 35 distinct values for that field?

The Browse Field shows those 35 records which can get to the parameter...strange. If I placed this field in to report the distinct counts are 121 and you can see all of them. The Browse and parameter don't take more then 35 alphabetical values...

Thanks.

I've never seen this...

Perhaps you're not looking at the right field?

Note that the default values are not dynamic, so once the report is saved and you add in new distinct values, the parameter list won't update, which is a real nuisance...

K,

I've never seen this too.

And I'm sure looking at right field...The Brows shows just 35 alphabetically values, from "Activity" to "Credential". If I placed the SAME field on to report it shows all 121 distinct values from "Activity" to "Waiting List Status"...

Thanks.
Al.

Perhaps the "BrowseTimeout" registry key is set too low.
