i am using Crystal Reports 8.5 and i created 4 parameters:
enter part number
enter date
enter op sequence
Details

I am mirroring this report with one that was created years ago and the original report is not giving out the correct average number of days and i was asked to figure out why the average number of days is not correct and fix it.

i am not at the point where the percentage problem lies so with me mirroring to this point no effect on the average number of days, after i get past this point i will go forward without mirroring.

I made the 4 parameters and 3 of the 4 select records however i don't know how to get the 4 one to come up to prompt the user to choose the parameters. the 3 that are all set are part number, date and op sequence. the forth one is Details--i set up the parameter with default values --- Show Details and Hide Details.

i noticed on the original report in the field explorer there is a green check mark next to Details however on my report there is no green check mark and i am trying to figure out how to get the Details to come up when prompted for the values the users want.

In the original report i went into the Select records I do not see anything there that suggests Details is there. Is there another place that i need to check to make the Details part of the promt box when the user refreshes for the data they want?

Please let me know if there is something here that is not understandable. I believe the solution is simple however as i have posted before i only work in CR's once in a while and I don't have that much experience in creating reports just making some adjustments.

Thanks,
Robin

Hi,
In the detail section's options use a formula to determine if the details should be suppressed, using the parameter choice made by the user..By using the parameter in the report, it will prompt the user to make a choice.

Thanks for your input. it helped me out but where i needed to look at was the Page Header section. the creator of the original report had two Page Headers. Neither one of them was surpressed and I was wondering how the report knew to print which one. DUHHHHHH.. Thanks again. :)
