Parameter prompt dialog box Cancel Button doesn't work

(using CR 8.5 enterprise) When I test a report that has a parameter dialog box in the CR designer things work fine. I click Cancel on the parameter dialog box and the report ends.

However, once the report is deployed into production the Cancel button doesn't end the program. I get a semi-completed report on the screen.

I've found that CR has a known bug in vers 6.0 (bug # CR 2001461 according to a search on their site) reported back on 6/23/2000.

Does anyone know more about this. Was it ever resolved and/or what's the fix? Does Crystal have a list of resolved issues somewhere on their site or elsewhere?
