Parameter passing 2

I am not getting the parameter to 'prompt'. The CR just runs with a date that it has rather than prompt for a date.

How do you code the parameter to prompt?

you hafta insert it somewhere in the report. either record/group selection and/or on the report itself.

I'm using cr2008 and I have cascading paramters that I have a part in the record selection but for selections that lead me to the actual record selection, I just insert that parameter in details and suppress it - when you go to run it will prompt

Make sure the parameter is referenced in your select statement otherwise there is no reason to prompt.

I have it on the report but it has a value there so when it previews the value displays. I just want the value to be blanks and prompt.
