Parameter passing in a URL?

I am trying to pass a parameter in my URL to show only the selected report. When I set up the parameter in CR itself it works, but using the ...rpt?prompt0=MyNumber shows me all reports. I am very new at CR and need this done by Monday! Please, help if you can.

It seems you are trying to get your reports from a web browser such as IE or Netscape.But first you must verify your report choice (java,activex etc.) and database name and password.One syntax could be as follows:
report1.rpt?init=java?user0=username?password0=password&prompt0=A?prompt1=B etc.
