Is there any way I can change the order of the parameters in Crystal Reports 6? I have two parameters, one asking whether or not to show a subgroup, and one asking for a month number. At the moment, the parameter to suppress the group is shown by default when the report is run/refreshed, but I want this one to be in the background and have the date parameter shown first. How do I do this?

Thanks

The only way to reorder the parameters is to delete them and re-add them.

Here is a trick to deleting and re-adding parameters without having to recreate them.

First, save the report (report A) under a new name (report B). Close all reports and then open both A and B simultaneously.

Switch to report B in design mode and place all of the parameter objects onto the report canvas so that they are visible, it doesn't matter where you place them.

Switch to report A and delete the parameters. This will require that you also delete them from the canvas, and from the selection formula and any other formulas. In a formula you can simply commment out the line temporarily, until the parameter is re-added.

Once the parameters are deleted in A, switch back to B and Select the first parameter you want to be displayed on the canvas. Copy this object and paste it onto the canvas of Report A. You can delete if immediately if you need to, but copying the canvas object adds the parameter to the report.

Now return to B and copy the second parameter and paste it onto the canvas of A. Repeat until you have moved all of your parameters in the order needed.

Last, modify all of the formulas in A so that they refer again to the parameters.

This also works for formula fields. [sig]
Ken Hamady- href= Reports Training by Ken Hamady
[/sig]

Thanks you. That has been a great help. :) [sig][/sig]
