CR v10. The report is based on a stored procedure that has several parameters in it. Trying to add default values to one of the parameters, only 3 out of 60+ show up in the drop down. When running the report I can see these "missing" values, which means they are in the recordset. Edited the BrowseTimeout and MaxNBrowseValues registry values which didn't help. Any other ideas? Thanks!

I wasn't aware that one could use default values for an sp parameter, my cr 10 exposure is limited.

At any rate, drop downs aren't dynamic prior to version XI, so they will only retain the values included at design time.

It displays just three first default values for the parameter I mentioned before and some values for the rest of the parameters. And I didn't add any values by hand... strange. The report prompts me to enter parameters when I first open it in the designer; the proc is designed to allow empty parameter values - if all of them are empty, then it'll retrieve all records, which it does.
But you're saying that in general parameters based on a stored proc shouldn't display any default values, right? That makes sense.

You can add default parameters to stored proc parameters in every version I've seen (CR 8 and up).

Try adding the table that holds the values you want to the report temporarily, go into the Set Default Values for your parameter, and change the BrowseTable and BrowseField values from the procedure to the table. That should refresh the list.

vidru: thanks, it did the trick! I haven't worked with Crystal for quite a long time and remembered that in the previous versions it was not possible to have both a stored proc and a database table in one report. Apparently, it's doable in v10. Thanks again!

I am new to Crystal and I am only getting some of the info the pull down menu too. However, I was going to try your solution but I only have one table in my simple report. Can you help?

Some of the info is entered into the database differently (when we first started using the program we used letters and now we go with the job numbers...) Will that make a difference?
