Does anyone know how to use parameter fields in Crystal 8 so that the contents of the dropdown list the user sees to make their selection changes according to the contents of the database ? (i.e.: that the dropdown changes dynamically with the database).

Thanks !!

It doesn't work that way - the best you can get is the contents of a specific database at design time. That list is saved with the report and used from then on.
If you use Seagate Info to run the report, Info can handle dynamic parameter lists. That is the only way (other than coding the parameter interface yourself) that I know of - please correct me if someone knows a way to do this.
Malcolm Wynden
wynden@island.dot.net

Malcolm Wynden is right.

You will have to author ADO code to make the parameter prompts yourself.
I have a methodology that I use to make this read in dynamically in one page, so you do not have to author up one VB prompt page per report… if you want a hint let me know…
