parameter driven hidden column is exported to csv although it's hidden. At the report mgr it works fine when the parameter makes the column hidden it isn't shown at the report.
But when exporting it to a csv file the hidden column is exported !?
How can i avoid it from being exported when it's hidden ?
I'm using reporting services 2008

A hidden column is still there

In excel, it should understand that the column is hidden and process accordingly

A CSV is merely a text file. It therefore has no concept of hiding items so your data will be shown

Either export to Excel rather than CSV or create a copy of the report so rather than hiding the column, the parameter calls a different version of the report where the column doesn't exist

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

If you just hid the column in the tablix, you might also try hiding the column grouping (in the section with the little bars at the bottom of your designer).
