parameter display question

Hello,
I am using SSRS against an informix database.
I am building the report in visual studio 2005.
I have created parameters in the report to select a range of stores. However, when running the report I see multiple instances of the same store number in the drop down list.
Is there anyway to make the list show distinct values only?

use a seperate data set to feed the drop down list.
