Hi,
Adding printer with Smit displays the message : 1800-051 THERE ARE NO ITEMS OF THE TYPE just after choosing parallel
interface.
Looks like the Standard parallel port adapter is not configured.
Need help, please.
Thanks

Take a look at "lsdev -Cc adapter" and see if the parallel port adapter (probably ppa0) is "Configured" instead of "Available".

If so, "mkdev -l ppa0", with the appropriate device name should enable it.

There is nothing related to ppa0 nor parallel interface
when launching "lsdev -Cc adapter". That is the problem.
Thanks

Have you run cfgmgr wo see if there are any device filesets missing?
