Hi,
I'm very new to Mac programming and Mac's in general so i appriciate any help.
I need to send a signal to a device (not a printer) from Mac through a parallel port. The Mac i'm working on is a G4 and has only USB ports. I've looked on the net some sort of a converters but none of them provides any means of programming the port it self, just a set of drivers for printers. Did anyone have similiar problem in the past?
Maybe anybody knows some good I/O card for Mac with parallel port on it?
I'm gratefull for any help.

What is the printer you are trying to connect to, or the device you which to connect to? If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

The device i have to communicate with is MRI (brain scan).
So i need some sort of library which would allow me to communicate with parallel port on low level.

Then you should be able to buy a USB to parallel port cable. Just a small device then!!! ; ) If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

Do you know by any chance, do those cables come some sort of a library that allows you to program the parallel port?

No they don't! Which port do you wish to program, the one on the mac or the one on MRI scanner? Does the MRI have any other ports? If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

I need my program to send signals to MRI and as far as i know MRI doesn't have any other ports but parallel (at least for this operation).
