Has anyone ever had a problem getting the parallel enumerator device to re-detect? We recently have been upgrading all our W2K machines to SP4 and some of the SP2 images they had always have the parallel port break. Usually all you do is replace the parallel.sys file with a good one and reboot but sometimes you also have to delete the lpt port out of the device manager. I noticed the parallel enumerator had an exclamation mark on it so uninstalled that as well, replaced the parallel.sys file and rebooted. Upon reboot it reinstalled the lpt port but not the enumerator so when you re-add the printer and try to test print it errors out.
Anyone know how to correct this without having to reinstall the OS? Thanks!
