Paragraph Styles- can they apply text frame color?

I have a pull quote which is a bold text on a 10% grey tint in the text box. Can I use a style apply this to a selected text box.

When I highlight the pull quote/text box and make a new style, everything works OK but when I subsequently apply the style, it formats the text but does not apply a background color to the text box.

If you have CS2, you can set up an object style, which allows application of styles to objects other than text.
