We recently moved our paradox4 enviorment from our Novell Server to a Windows 2003 server. The first few days the users (running win2k pro) thought the system was running well, but no experiencing slow downs and intermittent delays.

Main issues seem to be running jobs that copy data from run table to another seems to be a lot slower then on Novell.

I have tried taking of the a/v scanner off the server but no change.

I have been browsing the net and these forums and it looks like I need to look at:
stop a/v from scanning paradox files.
oppurtunistic file locking.
Install netbui.
Check workstations for invalid printers.
bde share setting set to true

Anyone have any other ideas or tips?

Paradox 4? BDE?

Isn't Paradox 4 a DOS version?

If so, you'd do well to go to and access the DOS forum there. Several of the few remain pdoxDOS experts reside there.

If DOS, the first thing they are going to tell you is that win2000 is NOT a friendly environment for pdoxDOS.

Ooops!

Is win2003 windows 2000 or winXP? Or something else?

Regardless, that group will likely be able to get you going - if possible.
