I am trying to open up a Paradox form. It is an Ess.fsl file. However everytime i try to open the file, i receive a "Incorrect system setup, 'skdl' alias missing or incorrect" Has anyone encountered this problem. What does it mean?

It seems the alias, skdl, was not defined or invalid when the form, Ess.fls was opened

for Pdox 9, choose the Tools menu option, then Alias
Manager and see if skdl is defined. If not, create one.

To expand a bit, an alias in Paradox is a pointer to a directory. When you follow Joe's instructions, make sure you type the exact name for the alias (skdl), then enter the path to wherever that form (Ess.fsl) is located. It may well be that the alias needs to point to another location where some data files (*.db) are located.

When you close the dialog box you will be asked to save to a configuration file. Make sure you do.
