I've installed Paradox 8 or two boxes running Windows XP professional. Now, whenever I start PW all preferences are reset to their default values. I think I found the relevant registry keys, and they all show the changes but for some reason those keys aren't being read.

Of course this is more of an annoyance than anything else - I can change anything (but the default font) and have it "stick" for the current session. It'd be nice if things were more "sticky" than that.

Is there some file holding the default values that I can edit?

footpad,

Service pack's already installed, and the same installation works fine on Win2Kpro.

Must I upgrade to version 10 to run on XP ?

wsinder,

No, you don't need to upgrade. I've run all versions since 5.0 under XP/Home without any problems. The older 16-bit versions need to be flagged as compatible applications, but that's about the only change I've run into.

As far as the settings not being "sticky," about the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head might be that you didn't install Paradox as Administrator. I believe there's a .REG fle you can run from Explorer to install the appropriate Registry keys, but I'm not sure what that is off the top of my head.

Use Windows Search to locate all REG files in the Proegram Files\Corel path. One should be appropriately named. (I'll try to do this when I get home later this evening.)

Hope this helps...
