On the righ hand side of my Phaser 860 paper tray (viewed from the front) there are three small rectangular holes, adjacent to three black sprung plastic clips inside the machine. the other day a small plastic clip fell off the machine, since when the machine always jams paper in the front area on any print. Can anyone tell me if these are related? Do the small holes have to be filled with these clips? Did I miss another one which fell on the floor?

For normal plain paper printing the top hole of teh tray should have a clip or plug in it. If the wrong spot is filled it may give you a jam, if none or in place it will say the tray is missing. If the clip is broken you can cover the top slot with a piece of folded up paper taped inplace as a temp fix and get the tray plugs from xerox.
