Hello,

When i power on the printer its shows the message "paper jam, open front panel" i've checked everything but cannot find any peace of paper. Please, help me!!!

Thanks in advance.

Eddy

Eddy: i had two do this before and i had a hard time finding the paper but it was in there! a small piece of paper on the right side behing the paper sensor flag i removed the silver metal plate in the front and looked in with a flashlight and there it was a small piece of crumpled paper i had to fish it out with a paper clip bent into a tiny hook at the end, and also used a piece of paper folded and feed it through in reverse to help loosen it! good luck

Thanks for advice, but i think there something else matter. I have done what you said, but can't find any peace of paper. Maybe more tips for me?

Eddy: did you ever resolve this?? i just had number three yesterday with this same problem could not see the piece of paper no matter how hard i looked i had to remove the control panel and then the steel plate below it and low and behold a piece of paper stuck right behing the small sensor board!!

Hello again.
Yesterday I removed the control panel but cannot find the small sensor board. Where is it located? I've checked with a flashlight but find nothing but clean roll's. Other suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

Eddysan you have to remove the metal plate underneath the control panel that will allow you to see the paper path, the sensor board is the on visable in the from of the unit towards the right side the paper seems to allows get stuck in the back of the board and is not visable from the front, like i said i had three so far do this and the paper is usually no bigger than a corner of the page.

good-luck

Have you tried the "cover stock treatment"? First open the top door of the printer, flip up the green or blue plastic piece and remove the quick release guide (piece with two tabs and clear plastic strip). Then open front door of printer and slide a piece of cover stock (thick paper) up into the slot above the metal bar above the maintenanmce drawrer (marked "A"). The paper should go in all the way until visible at top of printer. Push in and out several times. This will push out any paper scraps and also clean the parts.

I opened the front door and remove everything that can come out, then took a piece of tag paper and shoved it through by hand with a back and forth, side to side motion. There is something in there hidden. This has happened twice. Both times someone else decided they could get the jam out by ripping the paper out.

Hello again,

Yesterday I used a thick paper and move the rolls up and down, and finally there it was, just in the right corner as you told me, a corner off a page... Thanks you all!!!

Eddysan: i've seen several of these exact jams so far, that little stinkin corner of a page .

Sorry for posting a semi-unrelated issue but this forum gets the most activity and I used it in the past to solve the 740 'clutch' problem.

I own a Phaser 740 with a new Fuser (98%). In removing paper jammed in the fuser, I accidentally created a small tear in the film of the top roller (not the fuser roll). Does anyone know if that film is available; or, the roller? I hate to buy another fuser for such a minor problem.

Thanks in advance.
