pantone colour tints in photoshop

Do you mean adding a spot color to a process color job? Or just using spot colors?
The only way I know of to use Pantone Colors in Phosohop is by creating a new channel, calling it Spot, and then choosing your color (click Custom on the right hand side). Then you can paint in, or however you plan on doing it, where you want to the color to show up in that channel, using it like a mask.
