I'm doing a two color newsletter, and I need to get the PMS Hexachrome library into photoshop to use their correct PMS color for a duotone photo. Please help! I have about 8 PMS libraries that came with photoshop, but none are hexachrome. Thanks
...as you artwork is based on a two colour job, finally to be printed with spot colours, i would just use the standard library and apply a custom name to your colours used and back it up with a print purchase order specifying the pantone numbers needed...
...as long as your artwork is setup to use spot colours on two plates, you can get by with the libraries photoshop offers...
...one of the many benefits of printing in six-color Hexachrome is the ability to reproduce almost 90% of the solid PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® Colors as compared to about 60% achievable in traditional four-color process. The PANTONE solid in hexachrome guide shows precisely how solid PANTONE Colors will reproduce when printed in Hexachrome on coated stock. CMYKOG screen values are provided...
...is your print provider unable to mix two spot colours, making two plates to use on press, or are they strictly going to print your job using six plates?
Well I am picking up from where someone else left off, and the PMS color is already set. I am not familar with the printing company either but I'm assuming they will print with two plates.
