Panning in Quark & runaround preference

How can I get my mouse to "pan" in quark? At my last job, i set up preferences somewhere I think in osx mouse preferences. Here my new mouse has no preferences. Itis a simple 2 button macallay mouse with scroll. They told me I could buy a new mouse, but what kind would work for what I need. Also how can i set prefereces for NO Runaround in quark. It always wants to put 1 pt. around item.

Not sure about your mouse. But to set no run around you need to change the setting with no documents open. Any prefereces set without a document open with be retained for all new documents. You just need to double click the box icon in your tool bar or I think you can change it in preferences.
