I have a SCO open server 5 O/S. I am getting a panic error that shuts down the machine. The error is pfntopfdat - bad pf num 00000000

I do not know what this error is or where to start debugging.

Did you just add something to the kernel?
Add a new piece of hardware? -> boot unix.old

if not, at the boot prompt you can try

defbootstr mem=/p

to help get the system back up.
