On a redhat 9 installation one of the users has turned off or hidden the panel at the bottom of the desktop screen in the gnome desktop and I can't find where to restore it. Can anyone help? The problem is local to this one user if that helps.

I was looking for the command I used way back in version 7.3 but haven't had any luck. There is another way though. You can delete .gnome* which are hidden directories. You can probably do "rm -rf .gmome*". Log out, then log back in and the panel will be rebuilt. You will lose the personal settings but at least you will have it back. You could also delete everything in his home directory but if he has any e-mail in his inbox, it will get deleted. I would do this as a last resort. This will cause his whole desktop to be rebuilt but will lose any changes he made since the directory was created.

I removed the user and her directories (it was my wife) since all she does on this computer is play games (she loves sishen-sho). If she had mail or something I would have been more carefull. Thanks for the response.
