Hello all! My issue is this. I have a KX-TVS220 and System is fresh due to HD crash. I have already set system up and is running fine except my employees tell me that they are not getting voice mail to activate when friends/family/customers call their extention number directly. The friends/family/customers say that it just rings and rings. What i did was go into program, hardware settings,PBX interface paramaters, and changed the "extention transfer sequence" to FXA instead of FXD. This seemed to work great and we then get the option 1 to continue to hold and 2 to go to voice mail. Great! Well now our customers when calling the tech support cue (193) and all techs are on the phones (there is not an available extention in the cue)the customer now gets a message similar to this instead of lining up in the cue for the next tech. Here is the message:" Sorry, no one is available to answer the call, press 1 to leave a message or press 2 to go to the operator. Any ideas of what i can do here to simply allow people who know extentions, to press the 3 digit extention number and if that extention is busy or no answer to go to that individuals voice mail? I know I can have everyone of my techs forward 3 or 5 there phones to 165 when they are on the phone but that seems rediculous to be forwarding when their on the phone and off when they are not on the phone. They are on and off the phone when taking support calls many times in the day. I know before the HD crash, we did have this working at one time, but our phone guy cant seem to get it working. He says its one or the other. Transfer to VM and have to be majorly inconvenienced (on and off forward button) or change the "extention transfer sequence to FXA and let the system tell the customers, that no one is available. Neither seems very logical! ANY help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

it seams to me to have a couple of problems
1 if you want a caller to ring directly to an ext ..the v/m must be setup as custom you can then record the option (if you know the ext you require please dial it now.)
you can set the cosuom menu then to ring the group (193) if there is no input.so for this record otherwise please hold it will then ring the group.

problem 2 this is relating to friends not getting the v/m box when they ring without you having to fwd to their mailbox (flashing light ) this is becouse you dont have the ext (phone system set to intercept to its own m/box(ie extention ext intercept 165)

forgot to mention you can now reset to fxd
if you want
or you can leave as is and setup a m/box 193 and use this for the option dial 1 to hold you can rerecord this system prompt to remove the option to dial 0 to call the opperator

hope this helps a bit but either way your tech is wrong what you want can be done no problem....if he cant do it then im sure there are plenty of techs on this board
try cwc3 on this bord he knows all

Thanks rivet,

Can you explain this a bit more in detail:

This is your response: problem 2 this is relating to friends not getting the v/m box when they ring without you having to fwd to their mailbox (flashing light ) this is becouse you dont have the ext (phone system set to intercept to its own m/box(ie extention ext intercept 165)

Not sure where i would need to go to set this. Is this done in the vm system or phone system? Can you tell me where to go to do this if it is the VM. Thanks in advance

Hey rivet,

Are the steps you laid out here via computer connected to the KX-TD1232 or is this accomplished via the main console of the 1232? Or are we using a combo of both?

tec

i should have asked do you have a pc connected to the phone system if so thenthe windows software is great for setup

Hello there,

Thanks for all the info. Apparently my system does not have intercept routing on my phone system, however panasonic did help me with this problem.

Alternate extentions are how this is resolved. We set up and all is working well! THANKS SO MUCH!
