Looking for information (advice) on SIP trunking. I am looking at replacing an old Partner ACS system with a TDE100.
Currently has 6 pots lines. Request for SIP trunks and customer needs each Room ext. to show own caller ID for 911.
My understanding is that I can request the 6 pots (trunks) ported. I would need license for 6 SIP trunks and from the SIP provider I would get the 6 trunks and additional numbers for each extension something similar to a PRI. Each number would also need to be registered with the 911 service.
Am I thinking right? Do I look at 6 SIP trunks as being "talk paths"
We are looking at Broadsoft for the provider, anyone used this service and is there any limitations when using SIP trunks. Transferring, forwarding, hold etc voice mail etc. (TVA200)
Will be using TDE100, 3 or 4 16DLC, Medium P/Supply think could use Small.
Did a similar install with Shoretel although each extension had a DID the main number was CID therefor each extension CID did not have to be registered. Price wise Panasonic comes well under the Shoretel.
Not sure how this E911 service works. If a room extension were to call a customer then we would need customer to recieve the main office/business number but if calling 911 would require room number?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

dont think you can have 911 send a different cid that the rest of the calls.
you can get the ca account software and it will flag a 911 call so reception can see who called them

Thanks obtsystems. Given thought to it and did not think it could do it. But with SIP and the many options from the provider was thinking there may be a way around it.
Am I right to think of "trunk" ported as talk paths. Although each extension would have a caller ID of whatever range of numbers given to us from the provider. 6 trunks would only allow 6 call at any one time!!
Thanks
